TOURIST AND VISITOR VISAS

TOURIST AND VISITOR VISAS The Tourist Visa is for people who wish to come to Australia to travel the country, explore Australia's landscape, culture and history, and/or visit friends or relatives. Holders of this visa are not entitled to work in Australia.   To be eligible for a Tourist/Visitor Visa you must:      ü  Be a genuine visitor ü  Not be entering Australia for business purposes or medical treatment ü  Intend to come to or remain in Australia only as a tourist or to visit       relatives/friends ü  Have adequate funds to support yourself ü  If applying in Australia, have substantially complied with the conditions      on your last visa ü  Meet health, character, public interest and any special return requirements. Tourists will normally be issued with a "short-stay" visa, or an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA), which will allows you to stay in Australia for up to 3 months at a time. An ETA is equivalent to a visa, but there is usually no stamp or label in your passport and no need to visit an Australian diplomatic office to submit an application. If you hold a passport from an eligible country, you can apply for your ETA online. An ETA is valid for 12 months and allows you to spend up to 3 months at a time in Australia. You can apply for an ETA if you hold a passport from one of the following countries:   Andorra Austria Belgium Brunei Canada Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Hong Kong Iceland Ireland Italy Japan Liechtenstein Luxembourg Malaysia Malta Monaco The Netherlands Norway Portugul Republic of San Marino Singapore Spain Sweden Switzerland Taiwan United Kingdom United States of America                Vatican City   All passport holders from other countries must apply for a visitor visa by lodging a paper application.     << Visa Options   For more information, please contact KMS Associates Education & Migration Services
