Can anyone get an Australian visa?

The processing times for an Australian visa application vary by the type of visa being applied for. Factors which influence processing times include:

• Visa processing workload at the time
• Whether all the necessary documents have been provided
• The complexity of the application
• Turnaround times for medicals and character checks
For example, the Spouse visa can take just a few weeks to a couple of months whilst an independent Australian Skilled Migration visa can take around 12 months to process, however, if your skilled occupation is on the priority processing list, you can expect a quicker response. Other Australian visas such as business skills visas, employer sponsored visas, and retirement visas will normally be processed fairly quickly.

Why do I need a Migration Agent?
There are various self assessment facilities on the internet which can give you a general idea on whether you are eligible for an Australian Skilled visa. These facilities are simply not sophisticated enough to recognise the subtleties of a case which (more often than not) can have a significant impact on the viability of an application.
